How do I check for updates?

You can check for updates in two ways:

Automatic Updates:

Go to Settings > Updates and turn on “Automatically check for updates at program startup”. The software will check each time it starts and prompt you if an update is available.

Manual Updates:

Go to Settings > Updates and click Check for updates now. Follow the on‑screen instructions to install the latest version.

Why am I not receiving in‑app update notifications?

There are a few reasons why update notifications may not appear:

Automatic updates are turned off: Check Settings > Updates and make sure “Automatically check for updates at program startup” is enabled.

Certain older builds: If your ENERCALC software is within the build range 20.23.08.30 to 20.24.02.08, the automatic notification feature may not work correctly. In this case, you’ll need to perform a manual update once by directly downloading and running the latest Updater file. After updating, automatic notifications should work as expected.

Can I get email notifications about new updates?

Yes. You can sign up for update announcement emails to receive alerts whenever a new build is released. Visit our subscription page and sign up with your preferred email address.

Important: These emails are informational only. They tell you an update is available, but you still need to run the software’s built‑in updater to install it.

How do I understand the build number?

Each ENERCALC build number is based on the date the build was released.

For example: 20.25.07.31 → Released on July 31, 2025 (YY.YY.MM.DD)

Since ENERCALC releases updates once or twice a month, a build number showing a date more than 1–2 months old usually means you’re running an outdated version. In these cases, it's a good idea to run the updater to install the latest fixes and improvements.
