ENERCALC says that file access is blocked

We have found instances where Windows Defender Controlled Folder Access (CFA) may block ENERCALC from creating or modifying database files stored in the Public Documents folder, which are required for the program to function properly.

Please follow these steps to check if CFA is enabled:

1.Open Windows Security from the Start menu.

2.Go to Virus & threat protection > Manage ransomware protection.

3.Look for Controlled folder access.

4.If it shows Off, please contact support@enercalc.com. There may be another cause for the issue.

If it shows On, continue with the steps below.

1.In the same ransomware protection window, select Allow an app through Controlled folder access.

2.Click Add an allowed app > Browse all apps.

3.Navigate to the ENERCALC installation folder and select the executable. This is typically located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\ENERCALC_20\ENERCALC.exe.

4.Confirm your selection and restart the application.

After completing these steps, ENERCALC should be able to create and modify its database files without interruption. If you still see warning messages or experience issues, please contact support@enercalc.com.
